1 Here are a few images of the Triple Expansion, Corliss Valve Gear (Craig’s Trip), Steam Pumping Engine at Twyford Water Works, Hants, taken at the last steaming weekend 5th/6th May 2024. The engine was built by Hathorn Davey, Leeds, circa 1916? The Twyford site is very unusual in that it is still virtually a complete unit, with its original and now very rare Babcock and Wilcox water tube boilers, water softening treatment plant still in situ and inclined plane for conveying coal and limestone to the calcining kilns. It is also still a functioning site for South Eastern Water. Copyright Richard Willock.
